MOT Test
Class 4 (Cars) and Class 7 (Vans)

We provide MOT testing for customers in Rosewell, Bonnyrigg, Dalkeith, Mayfield, Gorebridge, Penicuik and around Edinburgh and Midlothian. Anyone who uses a vehicle on the road is required to keep it in a roadworthy condition, in the interests of road safety and the environment. An MOT test is required once a car is three years old. The MOT looks at some essential items on your car to see that it meets key legalised requirements.
You should note that the MOT certificate is not a guarantee of the general mechanical condition of a vehicle.

Should it be required, we offer a FREE MOT RE-TEST.

How are vehicles tested?

Our testing bays are state of the art and we use specialised equipment for all MOTs.
All of our testers are fully qualified with the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) and their competence to test is checked regularly.
VOSA is the government agency responsible for supervising the MOT scheme. It does this by:

The MOT Certificate
An MOT certificate verifies that at the time of the test, without taking the car apart, the motor vehicle met the minimum acceptable environmental and road safety requirements required by law. It does not mean that the vehicle is roadworthy for the life of the certificate. The test does not cover the condition of the engine, clutch or gearbox.

The standard test procedures are laid out below. If your vehicle has failed the test, you will be given a failure document with reference to this information. You can watch the test from specified viewing area but you are not allowed to interupt the specialist while he/she is working.
